Kyle Rittenhouse verdict makes sense if you ignore biased trial coverage on MSNBC, CNN

The Kyle Rittenhouse verdict can be understood if biased coverage of the trial on MSNBC or CNN is not considered.

If Americans actually watched the homicide trial of Kyle Rittenhouse and did not listen to the biased and hyperbolic coverage on MSNBC and CNN, they understood completely Friday’s “not guilty” verdicts on all criminal charges.

Witnesses and footage on videotape corroborated the accusation’s account when he testified. He also recalled how he reasonably believed he was in imminent risk of dying or sustaining serious bodily injuries when he fired his weapon.

KYLE RITTENHOUSE FINDED NOT GUILTY OVER ALL COUNTS IN KENOSHA TIAL

Jurors did not believe the prosecution’s anemic argument that Rittenhouse provoked the encounters and forfeited his right to defend himself.  This was, in other words, “crock”.

Instead, what the jurors saw and heard was a 17-year old being targeted and hunted down by an angry crowd with the shout, “get him…kill him!”

Rittenhouse tried to flee but was attacked, kicked, and pelted by rocks.  He was threatened with death by a rioter who also grabbed his gun. He was also attacked by another rioter who tried to strangle him using a skateboard.  Still another took aim at him with his loaded pistol. Rittenhouse only then exercised his right of self-defense.

The prosecution never brought up a case of homicide. The prosecution should have been aware that the charges they were facing could not be proved beyond a reasonable doubt. It was enough to review the video files and question the witnesses.  But they didn’t do that.  The “woke” mob insisted that Rittenhouse be indicted and brought to justice in 48 hours.  The mainstream media also did as they asked.

The reason the prosecution never really understood their evidence is that they did not bother to look at it.  They made untrue promises during opening statements and then contradicted themselves.  Their own witnesses undermined the prosecution’s case.  In the end, the evidence was compelling and convincing that this was a case of self-defense under the law, the leftist media’s false narrative notwithstanding.

Twelve jurors took four days to come up with a unanimous decision.  The jurors were thoughtful and meticulous.  This was an extremely complicated case.  As they decided the fate of the young man who was on trial and facing years behind bars, it was clear that both felt the immense weight of their own measures.  They did not hesitate to wait.  They were determined to do it correctly and did.

Another story is the media.  After its producer, Judge Bruce Schroeder, was detained for following the van carrying the jury to trial the previous night, apparently in an attempt to take photographs of them, the judge banned MSNBC’s entry into the courthouse on Thursday. This is in violation of a judicial directive.  Invading the jury’s security can be dangerous for its integrity.  It’s called jury tampering and intimidation.

Everyone was not surprised to see MSNBC behind these shenanigans.  The hostility shown by their pundits and anchors towards Rittenhouse was unabashed from the start.  The anchors and pundits portrayed Rittenhouse, without any credible evidence. They even called him a White supremacist and a domestic terrorist who was acting in the role of a vigilante as well as mass murderer.  Joy Reid, a far-left host mocked Joy Reid for her “White tears” and unmistakeable racism.

MSNBC indicted Rittenhouse before the court of public opinion.  The jury in Kenosha had final say.  The jury had to have the courage to ignore external forces which appeared determined to tip the balances in their favor.

Protesters protesting a conviction remained on the steps of the courthouse as jurors deliberated.  They used amplified bullhorns at times to shout “No justice! No peace!”

They could hear their rants in the courtroom, and presumably the nearby jury room, where honest citizens tried to make an informed decision without being hampered by hostile forces.  They heard the threat of “no Peace” to create fear among the jurors that an acquittal might lead to the destruction and pillaging their community once more.  Jury intimidation at its worst.

Yes, demonstrators have the First Amendment right of demonstration.  Individual expression does not guarantee an absolute right.  Free speech is subordinate to the defendant’s constitutional right to due process and a fair trial.  Supreme Court has held repeatedly that protests are permissible in reasonable restrictions of time, place, and manner to “protect the administration justice.”

The anti-Rittenhouse antiswarm ought to have been relocated a block or so away from courthouse, where the jury could not hear menacing rants.

Judge Schroeder expressed exasperation over the media’s coverage, labeling it “grossly irresponsible,” “shameful” and “frightening.”  I don’t disagree.  However, his anger seemed to be driven by his unfounded criticisms of the judge’s decisions.  The judge protected the constitutional rights and ensured that the accused received fair trials.  He was unfairly criticized for his good deeds.

Schroeder was reportedly threatened by the public for his decision to not allow the term “victims”, which was used to describe three of Rittenhouse’s victims. But the judge’s decision was both correct and not at all unusual in a case where the accused invoked the affirmative defense of self-defense.  It is clear that “victim” implies that those who were killed were innocent and therefore the defendant victimized them.  Evidence proved the contrary.

Schroeder may also have been reacting to the shellacking he took from legal pundits who don’t know much.  CNN attorney Bakari Sells stated that the judge was “showing his conservative credentials,” maybe unaware that he had been appointed to the bench as a Democrat.  Rigorously safeguarding the constitutional rights of an accused from prosecutorial overreach (dropping the misbegotten gun charge) and misconduct (criticizing the defendant’s right to remain silent) is not a political maneuver.  This is an important duty all judges should fulfill.

His honor’s frustration was laid bare in court when he mused about banning cameras in future trials.  He was confusing cameras with bias, which is all to his credit.

It is possible to remove the coverage on televised in high-profile trials, but you will continue to hear the same ignorant attacks from CNN and MSNBC. Except the fact that the public would have to believe only second-hand stories from hopelessly biased media inside courtrooms and not be privy of the actual evidence.

The key to seeing is believing. Constrained commentary will not stop, but only become outrageously more credible. This is a dangerous mistake, which only adds to misinformation.

Sometimes the wheels of justice can turn slow. It takes time to sort through evidence and testimony before deciding whether whether to bring criminal charges that can ruin an innocent man’s life. The Kenosha prosecution failed to do their homework.  They gave in to political pressure from the liberal mob, ignorant media and members of the media that condemned Rittenhouse and didn’t examine any evidence or compare it with the law of self defense.

False accusations against Kyle Rittenhouse are going to haunt him forever. He must now sue everyone who has slandered and defamed his status as White supremacist, even Joe Biden.
