Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas) gave a warning to Americans about the border crisis during the most recent “Sunday Night in America.”
McCaul was invited by Trey Gowdy to talk about the Federal Court ruling to “enforce” and “implement” Migrant Protection Protocols, also known as “Remain in Mexico”. This policy meant that migrants were sent back to Mexico to be heard in immigration proceedings. They could not have been released to the United States.
Despite ongoing border issues, the Biden administration tried several times to reverse the policy. McCaul who is head of Foreign Affairs Committee said this was why the current border crisis has been “self-inflicted.”

It’s out of control. It’s a self-inflicted wound,” McCaul said. “Remain in Mexico, asylum agreements and Migrant Protection Protocols were all canceled by President Biden on day one.”
“You look at this caravan, you’re talking about tens of thousands of people coming up, people without borders threatening the border patrol that they’re going to go to war with them. My entire life I lived in this area. It is outrageous that this state has allowed me to be a federal prosecution chairing Homeland Security. McCaul said, “It is only going to get worse Trey. It will not improve before it ends.”
McCaul was also disappointed that President Joe Biden didn’t realize all the implications of rolling back previous migrant laws and instead just abolished existing laws because they had. [Donald] Trump’s name on it.”
“I think it’s been the plan all along. Going back to the campaign, that’s when you started seeing the traffickers realizing the law is going to change. And that’s when they started moving these kids up through the border. It became a problem and a self-fulfilling prophecy. I don’t think they realized rescinding this on day one, just because it had Trump’s name on it, what the consequences were really going to be,” McCaul said.
GOWDY: REPUBLICANS MUST PUT ‘DIFFERENCES AND AMBITIONS ASIDE,’ LET AMERICAN PEOPLE RESTORE BALANCE IN MIDTERMS
McCaul noted, however that not all Hispanics living near the border agree with these Democrat policies. They prefer “law and Order” instead.
It is not in tune with American citizens back home. They are looking for law and order. What’s interesting also is I find in the border, the border counties in my state, the Hispanic population, they want security. They are in search of law and order. They hold conservative beliefs. And they’re starting to take a hard look at the Republican party right now, because they don’t like what they’re seeing with Kamala Harris and the socialist movement,” McCaul said.
