Police said that a New York City woman had been brutally attacked and repeatedly stabbed in an attack on Friday morning.
According to the New York Police Department, the victim of 28 years was out walking on East 198th Street in Bronx at just before 5:30 a.m. Sunday when two strangers approached her. Police said that one of the suspects grabbed a sharp object from the victim and launched a vicious attack.

The suspects made a hasty getaway, and left the woman bleeding on the streets. She was taken to the nearest hospital, where she was expected to survive.
According to sources, she claimed that she was under the influence at the time of the attack and had no memory of details. Sources say police are looking into what may have preceded the attack.

According to investigators, one attacker was wearing a black sweatshirt and dark pants. He also wore a white shirt and white Adidas sneakers. His accomplice had a darker plaid shirt, dark-colored pants, and light-colored sneakers.

The number of murders between Jan. 3 and 9 rose by 50% compared with 2021, when they were the same period. They went from 4 to 6 Statistics show that felony assaults increased by 2% from 349 to 3506, a rise of 2%.
Data from the last 28 days show that there has been a 17% rise in year-over-year incidents, with 30 people being assaulted in 2021 and 35 now. And felony assaults during this time period are up 8% from the same 28-day period in 2021, with 1450 last year compared to 1,571.
